Highlight: What did the passage/message say?

  1. How would you summarize the passage in your own words?

  2. As you read the passage or listened to the message, were there any words, phrases, or themes that felt significant or impactful to you? If so, what were they, and why did they stand out?

Explain: What does the passage mean?

  1. If we have been set free from sin, why do we sometimes try to run back to it?

  2. What should we look to if we want to stand firm? Why is where we “look” so important?

  3. How does using our lives to love others help protect us from being enslaved to our sin again?

Apply: How does the passage change my life?

  1. Is there anything in your life keeping you from running well? How can you lay that aside?

  2. What rhythms can you adopt that help you remember and believe the Gospel every day?

  3. What’s a practical way you can love your neighbor this week?

Respond: How do I respond to what God has said?

  • Praise God for freeing you from sin! Rejoice in His grace and power displayed in Christ Jesus.

  • Ask God to help you lay aside any weight or sin and run the race before you with endurance and strength.

  • Confess any areas of selfishness and pride in your life, and ask God to make love a more natural part of your life.
