Sermon Discussion Questions

Main Idea = We are saved, sanctified, and sent by God’s grace.
Scripture Reference = Galatians 1:11–24

Highlight: What did the passage/message say?

  1. How would you summarize the passage in your own words?

  2. As you read the passage or listened to the message, were there any words, phrases, or themes that felt significant or impactful to you? If so, what were they, and why did they stand out?

Explain: What does the passage mean?

  1. Read Galatians 1:11–12. Why is it important to believe that the message of the Gospel was not created by any human mind?

  2. Why does Paul continue on talking about his growth in the Lord, not just stopping at his conversion? What does this tell us about how God’s grace works in our lives today?

  3. Read Galatians 1:13–14. Why does Paul make sure to tell of his life before Jesus? What role does boasting in weakness have in the Christian life? How is this different from the world around us?

Apply: How does the passage change my life?

  1. In this passage, Paul shares his testimony with the church at Galatia. What are some things that might keep us from sharing our own testimony with those around us?

  2. Read Galatians 1:24. What’s something you can do by God’s grace this week that can lead to those around you glorifying God?

Respond: How do I respond to what God has said?

  • Praise God for the way He has worked specifically in your life and in your group. As you pray together, share specific ways God has redeemed and transformed you.

  • Confess the things in your hearts that keep you from sharing the story of God’s transforming grace in your life.

  • Ask God to help you love and cherish His grace more, that other people might see your transformed life and glorify God.
