Facility Use Request

LifePoint Church in Smyrna, TN

Facility Use Instructions

If you are planning a wedding, special event, or funeral there are some specific steps that must be taken in order to secure a space at LifePoint Church. The following pages provide clear steps on how to request a space from LifePoint Church.

The church’s facilities were provided through God’s benevolence and by the sacrificial generosity of church members. The church desires that its facilities be used for the fellowship of the Body of Christ and to bring God glory. Although the facilities are not generally open to the public, we make our facilities available to approved non-members as a witness to our faith, in a spirit of Christian charity, and as a means of demonstrating the Gospel of Jesus Christ in practice.

Whether you are holding a HOA meeting, community event planning meeting, baby shower, or wedding we want your event to be a success. We have created a simple process depending on the type of event you are desiring.

Events

There are a few items to be aware of if you are planning a small event such as a baby shower, HOA meeting, community sporting event or other small meeting. LifePoint Church does not schedule birthday parties, graduations, retirement parties, recurring organizational events, or events where goods are sold, as in a trade shows or pyramid-style events. Common events scheduled with LifePoint Church include, but are not limited to, banquets, neighborhood meetings, training events, and school sponsored events. Social receptions (weddings, showers, etc) are limited to church members and their family. Any event scheduled is subject to the rules and regulations described in the LifePoint Church Facility Use Agreement.

Deposits and Fees

The is a fee for events based on space utilization and hours needed. This fee includes a meeting space complete with chairs and tables (group must set up and tear down). Additional fees may be required if A/V requirements are requested. However, there are cases where the fee is waived. This is generally done for those raising money for mission work and school related functions. Once the Facility Use Request Form is completed a representative will be in contact about the fee.

Holidays

Events may not be scheduled on Easter weekend, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day and week prior to and following Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Also, we have limited availability on the weekends as we prepare for Sunday programming. We cannot schedule non-ministry events in a space, like the Hub at the Smyrna Campus, that requires setup different than the layout used during Sunday programming.

Scheduling an Event

Complete the Facility Use Request Form to indicate the day you want to have your event. You cannot schedule an event more than one year ahead of time and no less than three weeks from your desired date. Our event coordinator will contact you via email to confirm availability. Confirmation does not guarantee the date for your event. The date will only be held when we receive the Facility Use Agreement Signed and payment for space utilization.

Large Events

Events such as concerts, conferences, plays, dance recitals, etc. are what we consider “Large Events”. These events are not handled by the same process as small events, weddings or funerals. Because of the additional requirements of these larger events, the same fees and requirements are not applicable. Please contact our events team to discuss your event so that we can determine the scope of the event’s needs.

Weddings

We are so excited to serve you, our regular attenders, during the process of marriage and wedding planning. We offer many resources to help you plan and execute your rehearsal and wedding.

Though the culture has evolving definitions of marriage, we believe that it is God alone who has the ultimate authority to prescribe and describe the marital relationship (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:1-9; Mark 10:1-12).  Because of this understanding, we will only recognize marriages that meet the Biblical definition: a covenant relationship between one gender-normative man and one gender-normative woman. The pastors, ministers and staff of LifePoint Church will only participate in weddings and officiate marriages that meet this definition, and the facilities and property of LifePoint Church will only host marriage ceremonies that meet this definition. If you are a member of any of our LifePoint Campuses, contact erica@lifept.org for more information about scheduling a wedding or requesting a pastor to officiate your wedding.

Funerals

As our desire to serve and assist you in times of loss, we make our facilities available for funerals at no cost, but availability is limited. Only certain days and times of the week are open, and those times often change week to week. If you want to check availability or if you need a pastor from LifePoint Church to conduct a memorial service, please contact the following individuals:
