Read Daniel 11:2-4. Wicked nations will come and go according to God’s timing and power. The wicked never last. Babylon will fall. Though we get nervous about wars, economic collapse, and decaying morals, we can be bold because we already know how it ends! Reflecting on the historical context presented in Daniel 11, what lessons can we draw about the sovereignty of God over the affairs of nations and rulers? How might this perspective influence our trust in God's control over the course of history in our own lives?
Read Daniel 12:1-3. Daniel was promised a future where the righteous would resurrect from the dead and shine like bright stars forever. This same promise is for us and we get to see the beginning of its fulfillment in Jesus. We’ll conquer like He did. We may suffer or even die for our faith. But the promise given to all God’s people is resurrection to eternal life. How might the certainty of resurrection impact the way you prioritize your values, relationships, and goals in your everyday life?
