What is the CRAZIEST thing you heard this week & how did it affect you?
Into the Bible:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.
Read: 2 Timothy 3: 1-5
What does “...having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.”….mean in plain English?
What/how would you define a person who is a “Cultural Christian”?
Application:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.
How has Satan used Cultural Christianity to stand in opposition to God’s Kingdom?
In Today's reading of Rev: 17 we see an amazing word picture of “The Great Prostitute” drinking a cup full of all of Satan's favorite Sins. She enjoys it so much that she becomes drunk on it...How can we see that happening in the World today?
In Vs 14 we see that ultimately Jesus is victorious over Satan and all the Sin he brings into this world...How does that affect the way you look at your own sins?
Private Exercise: (Group leaders, be ready to find some one-on-one time for anyone who is in need of assistance. Or, be prepared to refer any needs to a qualified staff member. Encourage your group to be as real & honest with themselves as possible here. Invite them to approach yourself or a staff member privately if needed)
***Many who claim Christianity have something they are secretly ashamed of. Something they tend to try to deal with on their own, because they don’t want to face the personal judgment of others; or the pain of fighting through to real Transformation...
