Maranatha Retreat Center & the Mohammed Family
Ghana
Joshua, feels led by the Lord to go back to Northern Ghana to open a retreat center called Maranatha which will encourage and equip the pastors in the region. (Heb. “Come, Lord!”)
Joshua and Jaynece have been married for 10 years and are blessed with three beautiful girls named Jaedyn (born in Ghana in 2016), Janelle (born in Ghana in 2018) and Jordyn (born in Tennessee in 2020).
Joshua and Jaynece got married in 2014. They moved to Ghana in 2015 after Joshua accepted an associate pastor position to oversee the church’s Pastoral Apprenticeship Program in training local ministers of the gospel. Subsequently, they both joined the American International School Faculty in 2017 where Joshua served as the school’s Chaplain as well as High School Bible teacher. Jaynece taught High School English. Joshua’s family moved back to the states in December 2018 and subsequently moved to Tennessee in 2019 and have since made LifePoint Church their church home.
Maranatha will be a beacon of hope that provides spiritual renewal and support for Ghanaian Gospel ministers in a predominantly Muslim region. The center aims to offer a peaceful environment for prayer, reflection, theological training, and fellowship, with various facilities and activities provided. Joshua and his family plan to move to Ghana and provide this support and care to pastors who need it.
Ways you can pray:
Ask God to raise dedicated and faithful local church leaders with sound theological foundations among the Dagomba people.
Ask the Lord to mobilize ministry partners to go to Ghana to serve the Dagomba people.
Pray that God will open the hearts of the Dagomba leaders (Government, Chiefs, and queens) to not only receive the Gospel but also open doors for it.
Pray that God will provide the financial needs for the construction and operation of Maranatha.
