Explain
Paul is saying that sin should never be celebrated! There was unrepentant sin in the fellowship of the church and the believers were not calling it out but boasting of it. Paul is saying we should not have any fellowship with the christian that shows no remorse or turning from their sin.
Apply
The acceptance of ongoing sin in the life of a brother or sister in Christ has the potential to de-synthesize dying to self daily and putting sin to death in our lives. The more we accept immoral behavior of those within the christian fellowship the more we ignore and sin against the Word of God. We are called to call out sin and restore each other through accountability and repentance. The more accepting we are of wrong behaviors in other believers the more comfortable we become with our own sin!

My Prayer: Lord, give me the confidence to call out sin with love with compassion as Jesus did. Seeking to destroy the sin in my life first. Yet, never let my sin prevent me from loving my brothers and sisters through accountability.
