Sermon Discussion Questions

Get to know me:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. Explain something in your life that is rock solid, dependable, & unchanging. …Why do you think that?

Into the Bible

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

Read: Matthew 25: 13-30

  1. How did the servants in this passage show their faith or lack thereof?

  2. How did the Master show his faithfulness?

  3. Do you think the Master would have reacted differently on another day? Why?

Application:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

  1. Today in our message, we looked at Jesus, & how his faithfulness is unwavering! In Colossians, we were encouraged to seek, “...all the riches of full assurance of understanding”…..in Christ. What does that mean to you?

  2. Paul was concerned for the congregation….specifically that they may be misled into believing that we need to ADD things to what Jesus accomplished, to have Salvation. Can you explain the difference between “working” your way to salvation, VS being saved by true Faith in Jesus Christ?

  3. What do we need to do, to be able to hear the “MASTER” say the words spoken in Matthew 25:23?

  4. Have you surrendered your life to Jesus? If not, when do you think you will? If you already  have, what area of your life could you do a better job of letting God lead?
