  1. What task or responsibility in your life scares you the most & why?

Into the Bible

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

Read: 1 Peter 4:7-11

  1. What does Peter mean when he uses the word “Gifts”?

  2. What does he mean when he encourages Christians to “Serve”?

  3. Why do so many of us who claim Christianity, struggle so much to use our Gifts to Serve sacrificially (The way Christ modeled it for us)?

Application:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

5 Min Check-up From the Neck-up! (Take the next 5 min privately to examine your own Spiritual Fruit. How are you doing in the following areas?)

  1. Am I intentionally following through, regarding my Family's Spiritual Growth & Salvation? Am I just telling them with words, or am I training them with a “good example” of my own?

  2. Am I publicly “Known” at work to be a follower of Christ? If so, how does that example look from the outside looking in?

  3. Am I a faithful member of the Church Body, tithing, joining in for worship regularly, & serving where needed?

  4. Am I sharing God’s Word with anyone outside of my own household? Who are you pouring into spiritually?

  5. Am I seeking developmental guidance from a more mature Christain source, as I seek to grow in the Image of Christ?

  6. When is the last time God worked through you, to bring a new believer to Salvation?

  7. Are you working to surrender your life (All parts), to following Christ as a Disciple, & are you sharing in the making of new Disciples?

**** LEADER read out loud***

Real & lasting change involves the heart, but we are totally unable to regenerate or heal our own hearts! There are all kinds of 12-step programs to help us with temporary behavior modification regarding habits both good & bad. However, if the heart remains unchanged, the new behavior always goes back to the original pre-set.  To see our hearts truly CHANGED forever…to be RADICALLY TRANSFORMED… it takes honest & humble surrender to God. Papa has to do the work that only HE can do! The next questions are designed to help us start talking & praying about the real stuff…to finally get past the stigma of needing to be “publicly perfect”, & to be more intentional about seeking the Holy Spirit in regards to our GROWTH.

  1. What would you like to share with the group regarding the highs and lows you discovered in our exercise?

  2. Where do you feel God’s nudge, & what could your life look like if you surrendered?

  3. What is your action plan?

    1. Who will you share your needs with that will give you mature Biblical counsel?

    2. What will you specifically pray about, & how can you include your group?

    3. How will you check & adjust, as you work to come into line with God’s plan for your Transformation in Christ? An unmeasured goal is just an idea…
