Read 1 Peter 3:13-17. This passage emphasizes that we who follow Jesus will face challenges as we live out the life He commanded. Verse 15 tells us to be prepared to give a reason and do so with gentleness and respect. We are called to meet hostility with compassion and an attitude of ease. What are some topics that get you upset the easiest? What control do you have over these topics? How can you speak about these topics without anger and maintaining a positive witness to Jesus?
Read Ephesians 6:10-12. Scripture tells us that the enemy, Satan and his demons, want us to fail at what Jesus commanded. They can’t take our salvation so they can only work to diminish our attitude, mindset, and witness through whatever means they have available. What are specific topics you can be praying about and how would you pray for them? Who are specific people you can be praying for and how would you pray for them?
التطبيق
الغرض من هذه الأسئلة هو تطبيق النقاط الرئيسية الواردة في رسالة نهاية الأسبوع.
Read Genesis 1:26. The first thing you notice is plurality where God said, “Let US make man in OUR image.” Who was He talking to? Some say He was talking to angels, but, man was created in the image of God not angels. God didn’t consult with anyone in creation. So, he wasn’t talking to the angels. He was talking to Himself. The doctrine of the trinity is seen In the opening words of the Bible. How would you explain the Trinity to someone who is trying to understand Christianity? How would you tell someone the Trinity exists even though the word isn’t in the Bible?
Read Genesis 1:27. God not only made man, He made man in His image. In Hebrew, the word for man can be used for a biological man or mankind. Here, the context is mankind, both male and female are made in the image of God. As Christians, our starting point for understanding all things, including human sexuality, should be Scripture and this has huge implications. How would you explain to someone, reasoning in truth and love, that humans can only be male and female? What ways can you pray for people who are struggling with identity issues or cultural challenges?
Read Genesis 1:28-31. Life isn’t random. We have a divine purpose and that’s to rule, subdue, and have dominion over the planet by being fruitful and multiplying. Notice that God gave us dominion over plants, animals, environmental issues and all created things, but not people because people are image bearers. This means all slavery has always been sin. Human trafficking is sin. It means we should hate racism. All people, regardless of the color of their skin, ethnicity, first language, education, place of birth, IQ, career, have the same dignity, worth, value, image of God. How would you explain to someone, reasoning in truth and love, that as a follower of Jesus you can love those different than you without agreeing with every aspect of their life? How would you explain the love of Christ to them?
