Instrucciones: El objetivo de estas preguntas es generar respuestas sinceras e informativas. No dudes en plantear todas estas preguntas a tu grupo o, simplemente, elige la que mejor se adapte a él.

***(Group leaders, please make sure to budget well & allow time for today’s exercise at the end of the discussion.)***

  1. Have you ever lost a friend because you got too busy to find the time to stay connected?

Into the Bible:

Instrucciones: El objetivo de estas preguntas es animar a los miembros del grupo a profundizar en la Biblia para descubrir la verdad a partir de pasajes que no formaban parte del texto principal del mensaje del fin de semana.

Read:   James 4: 8-10

  1. What does it mean to “Draw near to God”, in this context?

  2. How can coming to Papa in such a broken way, lead us to a place of exaltation & how does Humility factor in?

  3. What would you say is the difference between a quick prayer over a meal, & a prayer of Supplication to God the Father; offered through the sacrifice of God the Son….Jesus Christ?

Application:

Instrucciones: El objetivo de estas preguntas es poner en práctica los puntos principales del mensaje del fin de semana.

  1. We live in an infinitely complicated world, how does authentic & genuine prayer help us navigate all the craziness?

  2. Why & How should we pray for our leaders?

  3. What are the personal implications of praying for God’s Will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven?

Exercise:

I once heard Pat Hood, our Executive Pastor, challenge a group to “Pray Dangerous Prayers!” He was trying to help them understand that the shallow, box checking prayer life that many Cultural Christians settle for today, will leave us far short of the amazing life God offers His closest friends.

Imagine what your life could look like if you totally sold out your Prayer Life to God. If you got a little tough with yourself, & intentionally got real with Him in your Prayer Life. What if you did that all day every day for a week?! What if you took the time to talk with Him as a child talks to their PAPA, instead of as a cold, distant, invisible force?

The Challenge this week, should you accept it, is to pray a “Dangerous Prayer”.

  1. Start each day this week by asking God to drive your day & your life moving forward. Ask Him to show you, why you are, wherever He sends you. Ask Him to give you the courage to step into whatever thing He is offering to share with you as you surrender to truly LIVING SENT.

  2. Ask our Papa to make Himself obviously know in a place of your life you have not yet fully surrendered to Him. Ask Him to crash into your heart in a way that rips off any built up calluses. Pray for Papa to show you sin you do not realize you have.

  3. Every morning this week Pray that He will make your heart sensitive to HIS DIVINE WILL. Ask Him to give you strength outside of yourself, the kind that only comes from God the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to begin/continue to TRANSFORM you.

***Be ready to report back next week & share your experiences with the group!
