  1. How would you summarize the passage in your own words?  Hint: this passage is a summary of the book of Galatians.

  2. As you read the passage or listened to the message, were there any words, phrases, or themes that felt significant or impactful to you? If so, what were they, and why did they stand out?

Explain: What does the passage mean?

  1. What does it mean to boast in the flesh? How were the Judaizers in Galatia using circumcision to boast in their flesh?

  2. What does it mean that Paul bore on his body the marks of Jesus? What does it look like for us to bear the marks of Jesus?

Apply: How does the passage change my life?

  1. Does boasting in the cross come naturally to us? When we boast in the cross, what will it cost us? Is it worth it?

  2. What does our life look like when we boast in the flesh? How can we grow in boasting in the cross?

Respond: How do I respond to what God has said?

  • Confess where your life is boasting in your flesh.

  • Ask Christ to exalt the cross in your heart and to help you boast in what He’s done.

  • Praise God for what He did for us on the cross. Spend some time meditating on what happened at Calvary.
