Scripture Reference = Galatians 2:1–14
Highlight: What did the passage/message say?
How would you summarize the passage in your own words?
As you read the passage or listened to the message, were there any words, phrases, or themes that felt significant or impactful to you? If so, what were they, and why did they stand out?
Explain: What does the passage mean?
Read Galatians 2:3-5. Why is it important that we know, believe, and preserve the whole truth of the Gospel? What happens if we compromise on the truth?
Read Galatians 2:6-9. What does it mean that Peter ministered to the “circumcised” and Paul to the “uncircumcised?” What does this tell us about how we deal with differences in the church?
Read Galatians 2:10. Why do the apostles single out “remembering the poor?” Why is it important that we do the same?
Apply: How does the passage change my life?
Are there any places that you or someone around you seems to be compromising the truth? How can you move to correct this?
What does it look like for us to fight for unity in the church today? Can you take any steps to do that this week?
What keeps us from ministering to the poor? How can you grow in ministering to those in physical and spiritual need around you?
Respond: How do I respond to what God has said?
Confess where you have compromised the truth or forgotten the poor, knowing that God’s grace moves you to repentance and obedience.
Ask God to bring unity to the pastors, staff, friends, and families within our church.
Praise God for the gift of His truth to us!
