Sermon Discussion Questions

Get to know me

The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. What is a tradition you had (or have) that reminds you of the Christmas season?

  2. If you were to start a new family Christmas tradition, what would it be?

Into the Bible

The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover the truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

  1. Read the following verses and reflect on how they speak about salvation in Jesus.

    1. John 3:16-17.

    2. John 4:10.

    3. Romans 6:23.

Application

The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

  1. Focus on Luke 2:11

    1. Notice the phrase “unto you.” What is being said by these words in the verse?

    2. What do you think went through the minds of the shepherds when they heard, ”a Savior, who is Christ?”

    3. This one verse says so much and then ends with “the Lord.” The word ‘Lord’ isn’t significant in our day but was quite significant in the first century. What did these words mean to the shepherds when put with Savior and Christ?

    4. How does this one verse lift you up?
