Sermon Discussion Questions

Get to know me

The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. On a scale from 1-10, how well do you make known the wonder of Jesus, telling others about Him? If you think you don't do well, what are a couple obstacles that hold you back? How can you overcome those obstacles?

Into the Bible

The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover the truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

  1. Read 1 Corinthians 1:27. What are examples that the world views as strong or valuable? What are some things the world sees as foolish or weak which God uses for His good?

Application

The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

  1. Read Luke 2:8-14. How would you define fear? What are a couple of your biggest fears? How would you compare your car to that of the shepherds when the angels appeared?

  2. Read Luke 2:15-19. How did the shepherds respond when the angels left? Have you ever responded to great news like the shepherds? How does the shepherds response encourage you in sharing Christ?

Read Luke 2:20. The shepherds went back to work but with a greater joy. How can your worship grow in the regular activities of daily life?
