Sermon Discussion Questions

Get to know me

The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. What is the hardest thing about prayer that keeps you from regularly praying?

Into the Bible

The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover the truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

  1. Read Ephesians 5:15-16. What are some wise and unwise examples of daily life you yourself have been responsible for? How did you know they were wise or unwise?

  2. In verse 16 the passage says that ”the days are evil.” How do you understand that?

Application

The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

  1. Read Colossians 4:2. How could you say this verse that would make it memorable to you?

  2. Read Colossians 4:3-4. What percentage of time would you say you pray for yourself versus other people? How would you describe your prayers for other people?

Read Colossians 4:5-6. How do you “walk in wisdom towards outsiders?” What are ways you know you are not wise in your encounters with others? How do you correct and grow in wisdom?
