Sermon Discussion Questions

Get to know me:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group, or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. What is your favorite and least favorite Easter candy?

  2. We know that Easter is not about eggs, bunnies, and chicks. What does Easter mean to you?

Into the Bible

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text of the message.

Read:  Matthew 7:15-20

  1. What was Jesus saying here? Why do you think He said it?

Application:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the message.

  1. In our Resurrection Sunday Sermon, we looked at Luke 24 (The Resurrection of Jesus). What would you say is the difference between simply knowing/believing that Jesus lived, died, and was resurrected versus fully surrendering to that sacrifice?

  2. Share a personal experience of how Jesus has transformed you. If it is hard to share, how would you like to see Jesus transform you?

  3. Jesus says in Matthew 7:15 that you can tell a tree by its fruit. While even the best tree in any orchard has some flaws, you can tell overall at a glance whether or not a tree’s fruit is good or bad. How would Jesus describe the “fruit” of your life? Why do you say that?

  4. What one thing would you like to pray for today, as you ask Jesus to begin/continue to transform your life?
