Sermon Discussion Questions – Week of Feb 16, 2020
Get to know me:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.
Have you seen a Rocky movie before? If so, what did you think about it and how did it inspire you?
What are you working so hard for today?
Is what you’re living for going to be worth all the effort in the end?
Into the Bible:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.
Read Galatians 2:20
How would you summarize this verse?
What are some ways people might experience Christ in you?
Read Isaiah 52:7. Take a second to picture it now. Beautiful feet walking with the sole purpose of bringing the gospel of redeeming grace to those who don’t know God or to areas of the world who have never heard about God. How is this concept of “living sent” different from the ways you have viewed evangelism in the past?
Application:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.
The time to allow God to use you is now. How can you start living sent here in Tennessee? Who can hold you accountable to live sent not just for a season, but for a lifetime?
The gospel is the message but the glory of God is the motive. In what areas of your life do you need to allow God to use you? What barriers do you need to knock down in order to be used and get out of your comfort zone?
You don’t have to go miles away to do missions and be live sent. God is calling us all to live sent with people who we see every day. How can you live a life set apart for God and still be fully engaged in the community around you that do not know Jesus?
