Week of November 3, 2019 Discussion Questions

Get to know me:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. What is your favorite restaurant?  Why?

  2. What is one meaningful meal you had with friends and/or family? What made it special?

  3. What about communion (The Lord’s Supper) is the most meaningful to you?

Into the Bible:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

Read Acts 2:42-47

  1. This passages teaches us about what the earliest church looked like. What were the key elements of their gatherings?

  2. Breaking bread was mentioned in verses 42 and 46.  Why do you think that was so important to the early church?

  3. What are some things we can learn from the way they experienced community?

 Application:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

  1. How might today’s message bring greater meaning to the way you experience future communions at church?

  2. What are some things communion reminds us of and how might that impact how we live today?

  3. How can you start building the type of community Jesus did around that table in your relationships today? (If you are in a life group, how can you become someone that contributes and helps build that type of community rather than just showing up to one?)
