Week of September 22, 2019 Discussion Questions

Get to know me:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to generate responses that are self-revealing and informative. Feel free to ask all of these questions to your group or simply choose the one that best fits your group.

  1. How do you experience the “abundant life” that Jesus meant for you to live in your city?

  2. What social woes do you see in your city that hinders an “abundant life?”

  3. What keeps Christians from experiencing this “abundant life?”

Into the Bible:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.

  1. Read Titus 2:11-15.  What are some practical actions in this passage that could apply to fight for your city?  Discuss.

  2. Read 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Philippians 4:13.  How can this verse help you fight for your city?

  3. What did this week’s message tell us was the best thing we could do for the welfare of the city is?  (share the Gospel)

Application:

Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.

  1. What might a good prayer list look like for your city?  Create a list for your own prayer life and for your group.

  2. How can you use this prayer list for yourself and your group to “...seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you…” (Jer. 29:7)?

  3. Share one or two actions can you do personally to fight for something on this list?
