What is an important promise that someone has made to you? Why was this promise so important to you?
Why do you think it is important that we honor our promises? Is there ever a time when we should not keep a promise?
what are some of the biblical promises that stand out to you? What makes them so memorable? Why are they so important to your life?
Into the Bible:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to draw group members into the Bible to discover truth from passages that were not the primary text for the weekend message.
2 Corinthians 1:20-22
20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. 21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
What do you think it means that all of God’s promises are answered in Christ? Why is it such good news?
What does it mean that we have been established in Christ (v21) and have his seal (v22)? How does this give us hope in our lives?
Today, what promises can we as believers look forward to? How can we share these promises with our neighbors?
Application:
Instructions: The purpose of these questions is to apply the main points from the weekend message.
What can we as individuals do to remind ourselves of God’s promises daily?
What can we do corporately, as a group, to remind each other of God’s promises? How can this help us during difficult times?
What are some ways we can be more intentional about praying for each other and reminding each other of God’s promises?
