Think of a time when you knew something to be true but you acted against that truth. Like ”I-24 is always horrible but I bet today it will be good to take” against the truth. What was the truth you knew? How did you act against it? Why?

Read John 20:24-29. The “Doubting Thomas” moniker is well known because of this passage. Jesus’ response to Thomas is what should stand out most to us. What did Jesus mean when he said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”? (John 20:29)
Read James 2:14-26. The faith we are to have is an active faith. A faith we live out. Our faith is shown in what we do. We work from our salvation by faith, not for it. How would you say your ”works” line up with your faith? Where do you see opportunities to live out your faith in ways you currently aren't?
Read 1 Peter 1:3-9. We are used to growing in love with people that directly impact us. Family, friends, dogs (maybe cats). When we surrender to Jesus, it is because He has directly impacted us yet we have not physically stood face to face with Him. How would you explain to someone why you love Jesus?

Read Hebrews 11:1-2. Faith is conviction of the truth. Trust, not blind hope. How have you heard faith in God or faith in the truth of the Bible disparaged and put down? How would you explain why you believe what Scripture says?
Read Hebrews 11:3. The old adage “seeing is believing” is a faith statement many use to deny anything that they can't put their hands on as real. Scripture speaks about people and places that no longer exist. History books speak about people and places that no longer exist. There are many fewer arguments about things in history books than in Scripture. Why do you think that is? What is the difference between the truths discovered from Scripture and truths discovered based on history?
Read Hebrews 11:4. Abel's offering came from his heart. Not so for Cain. This would make it seem that not all work done for God is truly for God. How, in your life, do you strive to make all that you do for God?
Read Hebrews 11:5-6. Enoch pleased God. I hope we all seek to please God in what we do. How would you say your faith pleases God? Are there things that stand out in your life where you know God isn't pleased?
